Been Too Long!

Just wanted to say thanks for the comments I’ve had while I’ve been away! It’s been too long since I’ve opened my sketchbook-(I did finally start a new one a few days ago-so hopefully I’ll be posting a new doodle soon)

I’ve been taking a little art break (not because I wanted to though…..that’s just how I was feeling) but I started in my new moleskine sketchbook tonight, yeah!! So far nothing I can share – yet – but I did find this 30 Journals 30 Days at Dirty Footprints Studio and have been enjoying the interviews, journal pics, and lots of new (to me) links!!
So for now, have a great rest of the week and a good weekend! I’ll post some pics soon – Oh, and I cleaned off my little art corner, I may start painting again now that I can actually find my table

This just came in the mail today, and I am REALLY loving it!! Most drawing books bore me, and I just never get through more than a couple exercises-BUT this book is so fun, so DOODLY, it is great for my short attention span!
Here’s my first sketchbook pages from the exercises
I colored my doggie (lightly) after adding a doodle pattern to him, but I’ll have to show him later-he’s drying now!

I did the first drawing after finding this youtube video on using sharpies (I bought a big pack of sharpies today….I don’t know WHEN I’ll ever be able to afford copic markers and i couldn’t wait any longer to get some more marker colors!) I like them, but of course, I’ve never used the really good markers so I can’t compare them to anything (and that’s a good thing, I don’t know what I’m missing, lol)
just playing around some more with the little doodle drawing…I can see lots of white spots where I missed with the marker, but that’s why I’m practicing!
Hope everyone has a great week!!

(I’m always putting off scanning in my pages for some reason, but soon!)
For now, I wanted to share a great (new to me) blog I found yesterday, Color Me Katie.
She’s a street artist and an Improv Everywhere performer, and just a cheerful, fun girl. For someone who struggles with depression and anxiety, it was like a dose of medicine just reading through her blog (and I read it all-sad it didn’t have a couple more years of archives!). I want to get me some colorful paper and make things for my walls too. If you haven’t visited her blog, I really think you’ll enjoy it. I’m going to make it a daily stop!!
